Welat Zal (Kendal Tetwan), a YPS fighter who lost his life during the curfews in Cizîr (Cizre) district of Şirnex (Şırnak) between 2015-2016, was commemorated at his grave in Tetwan's Boluh village. Many people attended the commemoration as well as his family. 

 

Welat Zal's brother Devrim Zal said: "We are here today to commemorate not only a brother, a son, but a brave who has been a comrade to us for 18 years, and to meet him again at his grave on his birthday. We bow with respect and commemorate with gratitude in front of the will, sacrifice and resistance of all the lives we lost in the struggle for freedom. To be remembered and not to be forgotten is perhaps the most human thing that every human being desires. But we know that those who deserve to be remembered the most are our valiant women and our sacrificing children who have carried us to this day." 

 

'WE ARE READY TO BE COMRADES ON THE ROAD TO PEACE'

 

Stating that those who lost their sons know how valuable peace is, brother Zal concluded: "We experienced the death in our own home, we carried the pain in our hearts. We know the families of thousands of martyrs from this pain. We know them from their wounds and their steadfast stance. I wish the denial of the Kurdish people and Kurdistan had ended years ago and this war had never happened. Mothers and fathers who have lost their children know best how precious and essential peace is. The only incurable pain is missing the dead. As our wound progresses to its tenth year, our pain is still as fresh as the first day. And no human being should experience this indescribable pain anymore. Just as we have been ready to fight in every scenario where oppression, denial, torture and dungeons were deemed appropriate, it should be known that we are ready to be comrades on every path to peace." 

 

The ceremony ended with the placing of carnations at the cemetery.
