Signatures for Öcalan sent to international organisations 2025-09-23 11:22:21   NEWS CENTER - 2 thousand 541 signatures collected by initiatives in North and East Syria within the scope of the campaign "I want to visit Öcalan" were sent to the UN Secretary General, CPT, Council of the European Union, Human Rights Council and the Turkish Ministry of Justice.   The "Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan" and the "Syrian Initiative of Lawyers Defending Abdullah Ocalan" started collectign signatures on August 20 as part of the "I want to visit Ocalan" campaign launched globally for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan on 10 September 2024.    The 2 thousand 541 signatures collected within the scope of the campaign were sent to the United Nations (UN) Secretary General, the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT), the Council of the European Union, the Human Rights Council and the Turkish Ministry of Justice.    It announced the participation of 2 thousand 541 human rights activists, academics, politicians, intellectuals, tribal leaders, religious scholars, doctors, engineers and representatives from Turkmen, Circassians and different Islamic sects (Sunni, Alawite, Ismaili and Druze).
