Rojava can be a peace project for the Middle East says Salih Muslim 2025-08-28 16:09:19   NEWS CENTER - Salih Muslim stated that a unique democratic experience is taking place in Rojava despite Turkey's attacks and that this model can be a peace project for the Middle East.   The Congress of the Alliance of Social Democrats of the Arab World, organised in the city of Silemanî (Sulaymaniyah) in the Federated Kurdistan Region and attended by dozens of representatives and personalities from 21 countries, continues on its second day.    Democratic Union Party (Partiya Yekîtiya Demokrat-PYD) Co-presidency Council Member Salih Muslim, in his speech at the congress, stated that there is a unique system in North and East Syria inspired by the philosophy of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and that they have managed to survive despite all the attacks of Turkey against the region.   Salih Muslim said: "Despite all the attacks and embargoes against our regions by Turkey, we have resisted and today we are living a unique experience in Rojava. We want to be a common stakeholder in building the future of our country."   Salih Muslim stated that a democratic and unique model of common life has been created in the north of Syria and added: "We have managed to preserve this democratic system and for this we have benefited from Mr Öcalan's philosophy. Our experience in the Middle East is unique; especially in a place like Syria, where many did not expect it, this model was put into practice. This can be a peace project not only for Syria but also for the whole region."
